Kristof

Junior Tailor / Art Director

Kristof was born and raised in Montreal up until he moved to Vancouver Bc at the age of 16 with his parents. He started drawing at the age of five and his art soon translated into fashion designs he would create later in his career.

In 2015, Kristof attended a highly intensive fashion course at Eric Hamber secondary school run by teacher Nina Ho. This was one of the most intense 2-year programs he had experienced. So much so that he opted not to go to any post-secondary fashion schools as they focused on mass manufacturing, marketing merchandizing and etc, but none of the technical sewing skills Kristof was looking for. So, after graduating from Eric Hamber, he immediately tried looking for a tailoring position.

2 years later, Kristof was working at a shoe shop where Mia Wu’s massage therapist happened to walk in. After a bit of chatting, she offered Kristof the opportunity of a lifetime, to meet Mia and have a shot at landing his dream job. He then started the process of becoming the tailor he is today. The first year was hilariously adventurous. He spent his time babysitting and doing construction more than anything else to renovate the place and give it a bit of new life. This time was not in vain and helped give Modernize its more modern appearance. Starting with simple alterations to now creating full bespoke pieces, he’s incredibly proud of the work he is doing.
